Good day, I have been reading posts on this site for several years and stopped by Outlaw Marine a time or two. I am hoping someone can help me in my search. For quite some time I have been looking for a boat that will suit my needs. I know Outlaw as well as other companies build some extreme boats. With our river in Sask I know it is way more than I need so I am looking to see if anyone has an aluminum hull kicking around that I can use for a build. The style I like is an explorer 162dc style so if anyone has a similar hull design they may want to sell, please let me know as it would much appreciated. I would like to use an outboard jet but can take a look at any hull with inboard as well. |

Has anyone ever been in a Jetcraft Muskrat hull. Are they hard on the guts or not too bad. Just wondering about the hull design. |

Both myself and many friends have owned Muskrats. They are a great boat to learn how to drive on, as they tend to slide because of their flat bottom, however they're very tough and can run in only inches of water. They are built specifically for relatively smooth shallow water, not for choppy lakes where the pump will tend to cavitate. So if you want to use the boat for hunting/adventure/exploring, it will work very well, but I wouldn't use one if you're going to be on large lakes very often. _________________ It's always the Navigators fault! |

Excellent, thanks. That is good to know. I kind of figured with that flat bottom it would be harsh. I am thinking a 6 degree or 8 degree hull will better suit my needs. I will continue to keep looking. |
