I'm looking for a new "single point distributor" for a
460 industrial marine engine and at this point I'm wishing myself
"good luck" Laughing

Excellent point (no pun intended)

I've wondered about that myself. This was a crate marine engine
and was ordered with the marine distributor.

I was told to keep it, as it was simple and easy to fix, spare set of points rotor and cap. Carry a spare Coil too.

I agree 100% with you on the electronic for many reasons, performance being one of them, and I'm sure your an authority on that Wink

Question> If I convert to electronic, would I have to carry a lot of
(expensive) spare parts or, Is the system reliable in the long run?
Cheers and thanks for responding. Very Happy
Emery

I have a big foot kicker, but I'm lazy Rolling Eyes and I hate it when electronics go wrong in the middle of nowhere.

What spare parts do you think a guy should carry with electronic??

I put in an electronic one from points, VERY easy to put in and I have not looked back since, they are great for long trips, and you have a rev limiter in case you slide over sand/gravel bars.

Electronic systems have come down alot over the years.

Thanks guys Very Happy
Whats every one using (preference) MSD, Mallory, Accell?

I'm going to do it and just wondering which way to go.
The system I have now is working but getting parts is becoming hard to get.

Cheers and good on Yas!!

MSD hands down. They even make a marine distributor, module and coil. Pro Stock, MOPAC are a few shops in Edmonton should be able to help you with that.
